Top 10 Lip Colours

If there's one thing I love, it's a gorgeous lip colour. I have over 100 lip products in my ever-growing collection, and trial and error has helped me find the very best in the business. Here's my top ten favourites for everything from delicious scent to gorgeous packaging, long-lasting colour to over the top gloss.

1. Pixi Fluid Lip Creme £13
- An amazing texture, somewhere between a lipgloss and a lipstick, with unbelievable staying power with a great shiny finish. They're all named after classic Hollywood starlets. Shown is 'Hepburn', my colour of choice for obvious reasons!

2. Slick Pot Gloss $15 Urban Decay £10.50 Boots
- A more shimmery, slick version of the original Shine glosses, these literally melt onto the lips giving amazing shine, and even the bright shades are sheer when you put them on. Top of the pile is longtime bestseller 'Carney', a bubblegum pink (that's colour and scent).

3. Vincent Longo Cream Formula Lipstick $23 Sephora

- This lippy is really expensive, but with Vincent Longo you do get what you pay for. These are moisturising, sheer and soft, and perfect for daytime lips when you don't want to be dripping in gloss, but don't want heavy, chalky colour. 'Angel Love' is a beautiful nude.

4. Revlon Lipglide Sheers $8.49 £7.49

- The original spongy pen-type glosses has a really unique shiny, high-colour finish. The newer sheer version has the same long-lasting glossy finish, but with a more sheer, soft colour. Go for a pinkish shade for a 'barely there' look with a great shiny finish.

5. Lip Lingerie Lip Gloss £14, $20

- These glosses have it all and are worth the cost. Beautiful packaging that you never want to throw away, and inside a gorgeous gloss in a wonderful texture and sheer, sexy colour. Even the bold colours look gorgeous on fair skin.

6. Pussycat Dolls Lip Glaze $20

- Stila Lip Glazes are absolute beauty classics, having been originally created for Cameron Diaz on the set of Charlie's Angels. Now there's a new pairing designed for the burlesque performers The Pussycat Dolls. The colours are sheer and sweet, one is even named after one of my favourite drinks, Amaretto!

7. Eyeko Fruity Felt Lip Pen £10

- These are great if you're not very good at applying lip colour, because they're just like an old school felt-tip pen, so as long as you learned to colour inside the lines at school, putting this on your lips is childs play! They also have a great fruity scent, and the colour is completely budge proof. Eat, drink and be merry, and you'll still have tinted lips!

8. I Scream For Sugar £19.50 $28

- Sugar glosses are for girls who like sweet scents and yummy tasting products, and this set of 12 coloured glosses with different flavours (from peanut butter to cherries jubilee) has the added appeal of actually being gorgeous on the lips. Just try not to lick it all off in one go.

9. Mama Coco's Red Hibiscus Rouge £12 $12

- I can't get enough of this stuff, and the friends who've tried it have all ended up getting their own tins, too. This is the only tinted lipbalm worth having. It smells delicious, the texture is hard enough that you don't overuse it, it's moisturising, and the red tint suits everyone.

10. Lancome Juicy Tubes £10.50

- I couldn't write a lip product top ten without mentioning the best gloss going. Lancome Juicy Tubes are beloved of everyone in the know, not to mention the billions of celebs who adore them (Jamelia won't be parted from hers). The colours look shocking in the tube, but on the lips you get a hint of tint, a lot of gloss and a sweet flavour. They can't be beaten.
